Now that summer is upon us, no doubt you’re all keen to head off on your jollies somewhere sunny, open up your Fiamma motorhome awnings and seriously relax in some well-earned sunshine.
But where to go? Well, if it’s a jaunt to the seaside you’re after, have a quick read of this rundown of the most popular beachy spots in the UK to see if any float your particular boat.
Compiled by Best Western and reported on by the Independent, the list shows that Bournemouth and Weymouth, both in Dorset are shining up at the top in first and second, followed by Portsmouth, Eastbourne and Folkestone… all very good food for thought for your next little staycation.
If you want to go a little bit off-piste, what about disappearing off to one of the up-and-coming seaside towns, also revealed in the study. Morecambe came top, while the Isle of Arran, Aberavon, Skegness and Lytham St Annes also put in an appearance, among others.
Morecambe saw the biggest increase in bookings in the last year, jumping 129 per cent, so if you’ve never been perhaps now’s the time to see what’s going on!
For some of the best views of the water, make your way to the Stone Jetty… don’t forget your camera as you can see some amazing sunsets here. And make sure you go and say hi to the Eric Morecambe statue as well.
Lancaster Castle, meanwhile, is also well worth a visit, if you can tear yourself away from the seaside for long enough.
